I LOVE CHEESE.  I think I've mentioned this before.  Cheese is my favorite. But even though I love love LOVE cheese, sometimes....there is leftover cheese.  Ridiculous, I know.

You know what I don't love?  Plastic, specifically plastic in my kitchen, more specifically, PLASTIC on my FOOD.  But how to save the leftover cheese, without plastic cling wrap???

BEESWAX WRAPS!!  Beeswax wraps are the perfect thing for wrapping up leftover cheese! (Or that half a lemon, or the rest of your avocado, or even the bagel you couldn't finish this morning.)

Made from 100% cotton saturated in a mixture of jojoba oil, pine resin, and beeswax, these wraps let your food breathe while keeping them fresh.  With proper care, each wrap can last about a year....just think how much less plastic you can keep from the landfill by swapping beeswax wraps for your cling wrap and single-use bags?  And when your wraps wear out, they are completely biodegradable/compostable.

To care for your beeswax wraps, simply hand wash them with cold water and a mild dish detergent, and hang or drape to dry.  Beeswax wraps should not be washed with hot or boiling water (which would cause a loss of wax), so they are NOT suitable for wrapping raw meat or fish.  Beeswax wraps should not be used in the microwave (again, heat = lost wax, and no one wants wax dripping into their reheated food!). Store your beeswax wraps in a cool, dry place.  TIP: If your  wrap feels stiff, warm it between your hands before molding around your food or container.

Beeswax Wraps are available in three sizes - Small 7"x8" (think cheese, small fruits and veggies, half a sandwich, tops of mugs or ramekins), Medium 10"x11" (sandwich, larger veggies, small bowls) and Large 12"x13" (half a loaf of bread, mixing bowls).
