Listen, I know reusable period care items are not for everyone, and that's okay. Feel free to navigate back to the home page and look for a swap that's more up your alley, I won't judge.
Still here? Great! So, if you're familiar with reusable pads (and all the other sustainable period care items out there like period underwear and menstrual cups), I'd like to introduce you to Interlabial Pads (ILPs). (If you're NOT familiar with reusable pads, go check them out here and then come back and keep reading about ILPs.)
ILPs are a backup system for your primary period care product. They are especially useful with menstrual cups, if you're prone to leaks, and sanitary pads, if you're prone to sudden gushes. They are even helpful if you laughing so hard with your pals that you pee a little bit. They function in two ways: to absorb leaks and to direct your flow towards the center of your pad.
My ILPs are made with a Zorb* core, with a 100% cotton flannel front and back. To use, you simply fold the ILP (hot dog or hamburger style, whatever works the best for your body and needs) and place it in between your labia. DO NOT insert it into your vagina, that's definitely not what it's meant for. Please note that unlike my Reusable Sanitary Pads, ILPs do not contain a waterproof layer so there is maximum breathability for your intimate parts. Also, WARNING, you need to remove your ILP when you sit down to pee or else it will end up in the toilet and you'll have to go fishing for it.
CARE: Rinse in cold water and/or soak until you can toss them in the laundry. Machine-wash (cold) and dry.
Each bag contains 6 assorted print ILPs. Machine wash and dry in the laundry bag they come packaged in!
*Zorb is an eco-friendly, SUPER absorbent (it can absorb ten times it’s own weight in 2 seconds) fabric that is made in the USA and 100% free of harmful substances, such as PFOS, PFOA, lead, dioxins, heavy metals, BPA, and all kinds of phthalates, including DEHP, DBP, BBP, DINP, DIDP, and DnOP.
