Well if there's one thing you can be sure of...I'm not going to let perfectly good scraps go to waste.  Not fabric scraps, and not soap scraps.

An easy way I've cut back on plastic use in my house is to return to using bar soap.  I don't remember when body wash took such a hold on us, but as a kid there was never anything in my bathtub but a good ol' bar of Ivory soap.  Then one day it seemed like body wash was EVERYWHERE, along with those ubiquitous plastic poufs to scrub ourselves with.

I could use this space to point out that body washes are typically full of chemicals and fragrances and other stuff that's maybe not so good for us, and that those plastic poufs are a breeding ground for mildew and bacteria, but instead, I'll simply point out that bar soaps typically come wrapped in paper, and last a really, really long time.  Head down to your local farmer's market and you will find all kinds of lovely handmade soaps made with minimal ingredients in small batches by local artisans who would definitely appreciate your patronage.  Or stick to that trust bar of Ivory or Irish Spring, those are great too.

Whatever soap you choose, though, you will inevitably have to solve a couple of problems, and these Soap-Saver Bags are the answer! Problems like:

Where do I store my bar of soap in the shower? I don't have a soap dish!!  No problem, you can hang your Soap-Saver Bag from the faucet or shower-head! Even if you do have a soap dish, hanging your bag instead will allow it to dry quickly.

I always drop the soap! It's too slippery! The mesh makes it easy to grip, and provides some exfoliation, too!

My soap has gotten too tiny and I can't use it anymore! Not if you have it in a bag! You'll be able to use your bar of soap all the way down to the end.

Added bonus: if you're like me, and have made the switch to shampoo and conditioner bars, Soap-Saver Bags work great with them, too! Grab a couple with different colored drawstrings so you can easily tell them apart!

Extra added bonus: Soap-Saver Bags allow me to make Mesh Produce Bags waste-free! And you know how I love keeping fabric out of the landfill!

Soap-Saver Bags are made from 100% organic cotton mesh with an elastic draw-string and plastic toggle, and measure approximately 4” x 6”.

*soap not included :)
